Happy Halloween 2013 wherever you may be.

The truth is the true origins have become lost in time, however it seems to be a case that through the ages people are fascinated as to what is beyond and what happens at the end of our “journey”.

They say not to discuss politics, family or religion.

I know there are many things I don’t know in the universe.

I know that there is a like of scientific mysticism which allows the scientific western side of my nature to rationalise life, and there is also an element of “magic” beyond that which is known.

So.. lets look from a different perspective.

The world seems to have consensus that today is Halloween.

Over the years I’ve walked around where I lived “trick or treating”. I’ve watched societal changes and the nature of international communication share and shape what happens. Then seeing the F.U.D. of a few incidents cause a panic around child safety, apples and more.

That we live in a space where we are safe enough to have this conversation I am thankful for.

There are parts of the world where it is not possible to have this debate, and many people tonight who’s concern is not to share out the toffees or cinder crisp, that may not have seen the latest movie and want the costume.. For those people who are in need of food, shelter or water I wish them well and hope they find a way through what is happening.

I am privileged and grateful to have met some amazing people who are working on solutions to these challenges.

It is a shame that not everyone is able to celebrate optimally yet and I look forward to the day when that is possible, probably, certain and actual.

We talked today about what might be possible if people rather than “egging” houses – were to somehow add value to the old people or those in need in their area.
