What matters?
This is a question I’ve been thinking about a lot and differently over the last year as I work on ChaosToClarity.com . The book is finished in one way, and it birthed itself and it’s not the book I thought it would be, and yet perhaps the book that’s needed now.
I sense it’s important as it was with PauseStopReset.com to get it up and launched and yet I’m also watching “the resistance”.
The ideas in the book have been shared by me in some ways or another over the decades but today I’m seeing them differently and still being with the process. Perhaps we always need to?
As I’m writing this I have a short window before a scheduled “client” call. They haven’t been paying me my high end consulting fees far from it, and yet I’m clear they are a client and they are that I’ve helped / make the difference for them. Is it optimal? that’s a different question.
Holding space for them has been a lot of work over the last year and it’s been around a year now that they’ve been in the spaceship, with access to the StrategicAlchemyLab.com. They were already a “success” when we connected in this context, and yet knew they wanted more. Now they’ve launched new ventures, and understood deeply things they hadn’t realised there was to learn.
Yet does it matter?
As children we find our joy and path, as adults we decide more and more based on others and if we’re lucky keep our internal counsel.
Write now there’s a heatwave here in the UK, it’s almost too hot. Crazy given that a few months ago on the cold grey wet days many of us myself included wanted to teleport somewhere else – somewhere warmer.
I’m present to when there isn’t lots of apparent time we want it, yet give someone 7 days with nothing to do and many almost go crazy.
They say you can judge someone based on how they can be with themselves alone in a darkened room.
I guess more work for me to do.. more lessons to learn .. more to share. After all I’m still here, so hopefully good things will come.
I’m also at an age where I know now that I can’t eat the things I used to love, can’t do the things I used to love, and many of the people I loved are no longer around or available.
There are 8 billion+ people many of which don’t know I exist – and nor should they. I haven’t met hardly any of them, and even the ones I’ve met few I’ve had the privilege to get to really know over years and decades.
Growing up I loved the starfish story.. of the young girl or boy walking along the beach and making a difference to that one starfish.
I did my best to be inspired by that.
yet today is it enough?
